Good was nice but didn't know they didn't now serve alcohol, could have advised when ringing about a table

Not impressed. Having read rave reviews we booked a table for Saturday evening. The place was crowded and the staff did not seem to be coping well however we were taken to our table and served poppadoms. We were then moved to make room for a party of six and had to wait for another table (we had booked remember). Our food turned up over an hour later and most was promptly sent back as it was cold. The staff did eventually get the order right but the food was not particularly good, merely edible. If this experience is typical of the Jalsa Ghar I'm afraid I cannot recommend it and will not be returning.
Have visited Jalsa Ghar a few times over the years, but haven't been for quite some time as I'm not particularly local. However, my wife and I met some work friends here recently, and it's as excellent as I remember.I was excited to learns that we were meeting at Jalsa Ghar, and they did not dissapoint. The food was superb, service was excellent and it was all reasonably priced.It's a lovely little place with a nice atmosphere, and somewhere you can talk comfortably with your dining companions without having to shout!Looking forward to the next time I get to eat at Jalsa Ghar.
Been to this pub several times, usually for the food which as far back as I can remember has been excellent. The pub seems to have shut down and now they only do bring your own alcohol. A large group of us (fairly loud young men) and the staff were excellent in dealing with us and allowing us to have fun within reason. Not a bad word to say, would highly recommend.
